The physical movement that brings the fibers together is called twisting. Twisting tightens the fibers and provides more holding surface, prevents them from slipping over each other and ensures yarn production. After twisting, a process called fixation is applied to the fibers and the given twist is ensured to be permanent.
Yarn twist tester is used for twist measurement of single and double ply yarns. Twist measurement is done by taking a yarn sample of a certain length to the device. The test is carried out by stretching the taken yarn by means of the clamping or binding points called fixed and rotating jaws on the device. There is a direct proportion between the increase in yarn length and the accuracy of the result.
