It is a method that enables analysis by making use of the evaporation of mercury at ambient pressure and ambient temperature, with the analysis principles of cold steam, atomic absorption spectroscopy and atomic fluorescent spectroscopy (AFS), and which allows to determine the amount of mercury in water and food.
Mercurio-CV analyzer is an analyzer developed by swiss-innotech to determine the amount of mercury in water. The working principle of the device is based on the mercury analysis method described above and the cold vapor technique. The analysis is carried out in accordance with standards and regulations such as EPA 245.2, EN12846, EN12338, CEN/TC 230, EN13806.
The mercury analysis in water with mercurio-CV starts with the ionization of the mercury (conversion to Hg+2) by breaking the sample with the help of nitric acid and sulfuric acid. The mercury, which is then reduced and evaporated, is absorbed by an amalgamator called a gold trap, and the amount of mercury in the sample water is determined by detecting the radiation differences that occur during this absorption.
With mercurio-CV, determining the amount of mercury in water is a quick 2-3 minute process. For 0-1500 ng Hg (zero is symbolic, it symbolizes very low amounts) in the sample, the evaporation process can be applied. In this way, even very low values of mercury (<0.0005 μg/L) in the sample water can be detected. The most important advantage of the Mercurio-CV mercury analyzer is the rapid determination of very low amounts of mercury.
Also, in mercuiro-CV applications, analysis reproducibility is high due to the low sensitivity of the instrument to impurities in the sample matrix.
With the optional 36 and 89 sample placement equipment (auto-sampler), it is possible to test a large number of samples quickly. The automatic cleaning equipment, which is also offered as an option, can be considered as a washing unit developed for cleaning the system after the analysis.
