Grindometer is laboratory equipment used for testing the crushing fineness of paints, varnishes, printing inks, pigments, fillings and chocolates. They can also be used to measure the efficiency of the crushing rollers and to adjust the rollers. It is a quality control device.
Grindometers contain cavities whose deepest part is 100, 50 or 25 micrometers and the other end is 0 micrometers deep. The paint or pigment paste sample, which is placed in the amount to overflow into the deep ends of these cavities, is drawn with the grindometer applicator.
As you reach the shallow parts of the cavity, the particles that cannot fit into the depth of the cavity become visible from the surface, and with this method, it is possible to determine under which limit value all the particles are.
