The aim of the REACH Regulation is to protect human health and the environment at a high level, to encourage alternative methods for the assessment of the harms of substances, to increase competitiveness and innovation, and to ensure free circulation of the substance in the domestic market.
In accordance with the REACH Regulation, companies operating in EU member states that manufacture or import more than 1 tonne of chemicals annually must register the chemicals they manufacture or import with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
